Sara is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the BASc department, UCL’s pioneering new liberal arts and sciences degree programme. She is also founder of an international public library of poetry (The Itinerant Poetry Library) and co-founder of a creative technology start-up (Artefacto). Prior to joining UCL she was a Visiting Research Scholar at San Francisco State University, working with The Poetry Center and American Poetry Archives to create a new digital archive of its historic collection of poetry recordings; and was a recipient of a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation/IREX International Librarianship Fellowship, researching public librarianship in Romania. Her LIS research interests include public libraries, the philosophy of librarianship, digitisation, open access, ephemera and special collections. She tweets at @sarawingategray and @librarian.
