Archives Hub Service Manager
Jisc, UK
I am the Manager of the Jisc Archives Hub service, a national aggregator of descriptions held at over 320 archives across the UK (http://archiveshub.jisc.ac.uk). The Archives Hub work centres around data analysis and processing, implementing metadata standards for archives, promoting interoperability and online dissemination to raise awareness and use of archives. I am a registered archivist with over 20 years experience. I have written articles and given papers relating to online discovery, linked data, indexing standards and other topics related to archival description. I have worked on a number of collaborative innovation projects around archival data and the online experience and I am the UK representative for the Archives Portal Europe. I have been a tutor on the archive course at the University of Dundee and acted as a mentor for newly qualified archivists. Previously, I was the archivist at the Royal Institute of British Architects, and I started my career as an Archives Assistant at Warwickshire County Record Office.
