Originally from a background in scientific, technical and medical publishing, I made the transition into libraries after working on a project that explored how students actually engaged with books, rather than how the marketing department envisaged information behaviour among young people. At which point, I decided that I wanted to be at the front end of bookshelves, promoting the exploration and effective exploitation of print and online resources.
Since qualification, I have worked in libraries/learning resource centres/study hubs in secondary school, FE and HE settings, as well as producing teaching and learning materials for online courses and accessibility needs.
